Halloween music for YouTube and streams
All the music on this site is by Purrple Cat and free to use in videos and livestreams with credit, under CC BY 4.0. This is the practical version of that sentence.
What you can do
- Use the music in YouTube videos and Shorts, TikToks, Instagram Reels and any other social media post.
- Play it in Twitch, YouTube or other livestreams, and keep it in the VODs.
- Use it in games, apps, podcasts and school projects.
- Use it commercially: CC BY 4.0 allows monetised videos, as long as you credit Purrple Cat.
The credit line
Put this where viewers can read it: the video description, the stream’s info panel, a pinned chat message or an end card. Copy it with the button.
Music by Purrple CatIf a project uses many tracks you can credit once for the whole project, and it helps to add the track title when you can.
What “Content ID” means here
This music is not registered with Content ID, so a claim on your video will not come from Purrple Cat. If one ever appears, it did not come from us. Keep a link to this site and the licence so you can show where the music is from.
What not to do
- Please do not upload this music to music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer or Tidal.
- That includes remixes, samples and covers of it on those services.
Which playlist for which video?
Under a voice, use Halloween Background Music for Videos and Streams: it is picked for steady levels. For a spooky montage try Spooky Playlist; for family videos use Kid-Friendly Halloween Playlist.
Questions
Do I have to ask permission?
No. The licence is the permission: use the music and add the credit “Music by Purrple Cat”.
Can I use it in a monetised video?
Yes. CC BY 4.0 allows commercial use with credit. Uploading it to music streaming services is the one thing to avoid.
Where should the credit go?
In the video description or stream panel, and in the chat if you are live.
